THE SCALE

The world now produces more than 430 million tonnes of plastic every year. [1]

THE WASTE
Only 9%
Of all the plastic ever made, only about 9 percent has ever been recycled. Around 79 percent has piled up in landfills, dumps, and the environment. [5]

Since 1950, humanity has produced roughly 9.2 billion tonnes of plastic. [6]
2,000 trucks a day
Every year, 19 to 23 million tonnes of plastic waste leak into rivers, lakes, and seas. That is the equivalent of about 2,000 garbage trucks of plastic dumped into the world's waters every single day. [7]

In our blood
Microplastics have now been found in human blood, with one landmark study detecting them in the majority of healthy adults tested. [8]
Before birth
They have been found in the human placenta, meaning exposure begins before birth. [9]
Brain, lungs, milk
They have been found in human brain tissue, in the lungs, and in breast milk. [10]

ABOUT ECO PACKAGING
What eco packaging actually means
Eco packaging is not a sticker you add at the end. It is a decision you make at the start. It means choosing materials that come from renewable sources, break down safely, and do not leave a mess behind for the next hundred years.
Most packaging today is built for a few minutes of use and a few centuries of afterlife. A box is opened once. A tray holds a product for a week. A plastic spoon is used for one meal. Then it outlives all of us. Eco packaging flips that logic. The material does its job, then returns to the earth instead of haunting it.
That is the standard Adeeke builds to. Not almost plastic-free. Not mostly recyclable. Genuinely better, and honest about the trade-offs.
WHAT WE BUILD
What we are researching and building
We are focused, not scattered. These are the packaging formats we are actively developing plastic-free alternatives for.
Skincare and Cosmetics
Rigid and folding boxes for products that need structure and shelf presence, built from plant-based and compostable materials instead of plastic-coated board.
Candles and Fragrance
The inserts and trays that hold and protect a product inside its box, redesigned without the foam and plastic that usually end up in a bin within minutes.
Artisanal foods and Confectionery
Single-use cutlery is one of the worst plastic offenders. We are building sturdy, genuinely usable plant-based replacements that do not go soggy halfway through a meal.
We build in the open. If a material does not work yet, we say so. That is the Adeeke way.

Adeeke was started by two people who got tired of waiting for someone else to fix this.

Jeevan Kamath
Co-founder
Jeevan didn't start in sustainability. He started in sales.
The concern for the environment goes back further, all the way to school. He was the kid asking what plastic does to animals once it's thrown away, and what burning trash does to the air we breathe. Most people learn this in a classroom and move on. It stayed with him.
Years in sales taught him the rest: change doesn't happen from the sidelines. If you want to move something, you place yourself at the center of it, not beside it.
Adeeke is that belief, put to work. Eco packaging from plants.

Risheek S. Kumar
Co-founder
Risheek studied Biotechnology, which means he spent three years learning what things are actually made of. What breaks down. What doesn't. What "biodegradable" means on paper versus what it means in the ground.
Then he spent five years in enterprise sales, which taught him something else entirely - that most people already know what the better choice is. They just need someone to make it easy enough to actually pick.
That is what kept bothering him. Not the lack of alternatives. The gap between knowing and doing.
Adeeke is his shot at closing it.
